Gary Jersey Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 27, 2026.
Gary Lee Jersey, 74, of Brooklyn, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on February 26, 2026, with his family by his side, leaving behind a legacy of grit, courage, and deep love for those closest to him. Known for his toughness and strong will, "Jerz" faced life's challenges the same way he lived, with perseverance, determination, and an unbreakable devotion to his family.

Gary dedicated more than 30 years of service to Ford Motor Company, where his commitment and work ethic allowed him to retire early and fully enjoy the life he had built.

He found his greatest happiness outdoors, where life felt simplest and most meaningful. He loved his home on Wamplers Lake, spending peaceful days fishing, taking sunset pontoon boat rides with his wife and beloved dog Roxy, as well as gathering with family and friends. You'd often find him tending the smoker, and anyone lucky enough to try it knew it was made with love and patience. Time at the family cabin in Harrison held a special place in his heart, where he could often be found relaxing by the warmth of the woodstove and riding his side-by-side along familiar trails. During hunting season, you'd find him in the woods embracing the challenge then sharing stories of the big one that got away. He also treasured camping and lingering around the campfire, sharing quiet moments with the people he loved most.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ford and Maxine Jersey; his sister, Rose Grady; his brother, Sam Jersey; his nephew, Robbie Grady; and his special companion, Bailey.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kaycee Jersey (Coolbaugh); daughters Nicki (Jake) Zyla, Angie Jersey, and son Dustin (Mackenzie) Jersey, all residing in Jackson; Grandchildren Darius, Desmond, Charlotte, Wyatt, Cash & River. He leaves behind a family who will forever carry his strength, courage, and love in their hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to family for future designation. Please leave a message of comfort for Gary's family or sign his guestbook at https://www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
