Obituary of Laurence D. Conner
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Laurence "Larry" D. Conner, of Vineland, NJ, on November 10, 2023, at the age of 67. Born on January 14, 1956, in West Chester, PA, he was the beloved son of the late Clare and Laura D. Conner.
He was a cherished brother to Lee Conner (Patti), Susan Speakman, James Clark, as well as the late Luis Conner and Laura "Lollie" Carpenter (Everett). He is survived by his children, god-children, many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great nephews.
Larry, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, was renowned for his thirst for knowledge and his curiosity of mechanical technology. These traits, combined with his unparalleled work ethic, made him one of the most highly qualified truck drivers in the world. He received awards and recognition for excellence throughout his career. His dedication saw him working over 60 hours a week until his retirement at 65. Utilizing the success of his career, and his self-educated business strategies, he provided an enviable life for his family.
Beyond his professional life, Larry was a passionate collector of Corvettes and an avid Formula 1 enthusiast, traveling the world to attend races. He was a man of discipline and enjoyed curating the perfect zoysia lawn. He cherished every moment with his family in his free time and on vacation. His hallmark in giving always placed the most importance in a heartfelt message, no matter the occasion.
Larry was a devoted father to his son Laurence B. (Cheyanne), and his daughters Tchesha L. (Frederick), and Amanda L. (Kyle). He became a father at a young age and successfully excelled in this role with each passing year. His children unanimously remember their relationship with him as being the strongest, closest, and most loving it had ever been.
Larry was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Karen. He loved her endlessly through his final days. His life was a testament to unconditional love. His daily bravery was matched only by the tenderness of his heart that loved without bounds. Larry leaves behind a legacy of courage, dedication, and love that will be fondly remembered and missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Services will be held in private, where we will remember the joy and love he brought into our lives. Larry requested that his family and friends take the day off to spend enjoying and making memories with their families instead. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ManKind Initiative.
