Laurie Ann (Blagg) Colegrove passed away on June 20, 2025, in
Vancouver, Washington, at the age of 73, leaving behind a legacy of love and family. She was born on October 12, 1951, in Casper, Wyoming, to Mahlon and Eleanore (Denny) Blagg. Laurie later moved to Billings, Montana, where she graduated from high school. After relocating to Enid, Oklahoma, she met her husband, John E. Colegrove. They were married on May 27, 1977, and celebrated 48 years of marriage just last month.
A faithful Catholic, Laurie lived her life by the values of honesty, loyalty, and love. She never sought attention or accolades, but those who knew her recognized the depth of her character through her quiet strength and generosity. Laurie was active in her parish, attending St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and serving on several committees. She also worked in the radiology department at St. Mary's Medical Center, where her compassion touched colleagues and patients alike.
In midlife, she endured serious health challenges, but with profound love and generosity, her brother John Blagg gave her the gift of life through a kidney transplant-an act that gave her 30 more beautiful years to cherish with family and loved ones.
Laurie was a devoted mother, volunteering with the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and supporting her son, Dustin, throughout his journey to becoming a physician. One of the high points of her life was traveling with Dustin to Ireland, where together they traced their family roots and discovered a dwelling near Tralee in County Kerry where their ancestors lived in the 1800s.
Music was another passion of Laurie's, especially The Beatles. She was a whiz at Beatles trivia and her passion was well known. Her deep love for family, especially her two grandchildren-Norah (9) and Madeline (7)-prompted her move from Oklahoma to Washington state in 2016. Laurie cherished weekends spent baking with Norah and Madeline, playing games, reading together, and celebrating holidays surrounded by family.
She was a proud member of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), Chapter GP in Enid, OK, and remained a connected and loyal member even after relocating to Washington. Her friendships and sense of community remained strong wherever she lived.
Laurie was preceded in death by her brother, Mahlon Blagg Jr., and parents. She is survived by her husband, John; son, Dustin; daughter-in-law, Wendy; grandchildren, Norah and Madeline; sister, Annette Blagg; and brother, John Blagg; as well as many other family members who cherished her and will carry on her memory.
Her absence will be deeply felt by those who knew her. In accordance with her wishes, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Ridgefield, WA, with interment to follow at Ridgefield Cemetery. Those who wish to pay tribute are encouraged to do so in ways that reflect who Laurie was. Donations may be made in her name to The Colegrove Memorial Scholarship Fund via the Northwest Osteopathic Medical Foundation at 16869 SW 65th Avenue #126, Lake Oswego, OR 97035-7865.
