Laurie Ann Marubio, 64, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away suddenly on September 16, 2025. Born on June 18, 1961, to Joann Randazzo (deceased) and Richard Pritchard (deceased), Laurie lived a life defined by love, devotion, and selflessness. Laurie dedicated her entire life to caring for her beloved son, Tommy, who has autism and requires constant care and attention. Her boundless patience, compassion, and strength made her an extraordinary mother. She was also the sweetest mom and dearest best friend to her daughter, Krista, who will forever cherish the closeness and love they shared. Laurie married the love of her life, Howard Marubio, with whom she shared nearly 38 years of marriage. They were set to celebrate their anniversary on September 18, 2025. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She was a cherished sister to Julie Levy and Dianne Tripp, and a beloved cousin to Lynn Sachs, Michael Randazzo, and Anthony Randazzo. She was a beloved sister-in-law to Allison Ayres, Don Ayres, and Sandy Marubio (deceased). She was a beloved daughter-in-law to Howard F. Marubio (deceased) and Mary Marubio (deceased). Her family will remember her for her unwavering loyalty to her family and her ability to make everyone around her feel cared for. From an early age, Laurie loved animals, especially her Irish Setters, which she proudly showed in dog shows. More recently, her loyal Greater Swiss Mountain dog, Maggie (deceased) and her newly adopted Great Dane puppy, Elsa, brought her immense joy. Her home and heart were always full of the love of her pets. Laurie also found peace and happiness in her garden, tending to her flowers with care. Her favorite yellow roses were a reflection of her bright, nurturing spirit. Laurie's legacy is one of kindness, devotion, and endless love for her family. She will be remembered not only for the sacrifices she made but for the joy, laughter, and warmth she brought into the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Howard; her children Tommy and Krista; her siblings Julie and Dianne; her cousins Lynn, Michael, and Anthony; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply. If love could have saved her she would have lived forever. A service to honor Laurie's life will be held on September 26, 2025 from 4pm-8pm at Matz Mt. Prospect Funeral Chapel. The family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to help support Laurie's family with the unexpected funeral expenses.
