Obituary
Laurie Rae Rowles was born October 6th, 1961, to Harold and Dorothy (Hough) Rowles in Livingston, MT. She was the precious fourth daughter of Harold and Dorothy. Laurie grew up in Livingston, playing with friends she met on the north side, and went to school throughout Livingston, then attended High School at Park High.
Laurie's early adulthood events took her to several places in Montana and South Dakota, then in 1981, after returning to Livingston, she gave birth to the light of her life, her son Jessy. Laurie attended Montana State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education and obtained a teaching Certificate. She married Terry Bolen, and as both Laurie and Terry were teachers, taught in Billings and several small communities throughout Montana over the following several years. Their lives' paths having diverged, Laurie returned home to Livingston once more, and she began a new career at Livingston Memorial Hospital in 2000, where she thrived in the Information Systems Department, as an essential systems implementer and trainer – her warm, easy manner helping transition countless employees to new systems.
Laurie met Jody Duran at Livingston HealthCare. Laurie and Jody began a new life together in 2015. Laurie loved getting away with Jody for a weekend or longer to several places throughout the Northwest, sometimes with her beloved twin sisters and their spouses. In 2018 Laurie and Jody purchased their dream home near Clyde Park where she loved tending her flowers and working on the home, bathed in the warm spring and summer sun.
The picture included in this story reflects her life's warm glow she shared with everyone around her, and you'd always see the twinkle in her eye because the smile was often in appreciation of an off-color joke or her quick, witty, clever quip. Her life ended all too soon on the morning of June 17th, 2023, at Billings Clinic after a year-long battle with cardiac issues. She was the sunshine of many of her family and friends' lives and she is and will always be so missed.
Laurie is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Dorothy Rowles. She is survived by her husband, Jody Duran, her son, Jessy, Jody's Daughters, Alyson (Kamron) Hoffman and Amber Duran, Granddaughter, Halle Hoffman, Sisters, Sheri (Mitch) Williams, Kathy (Mike) Phillips, Carla (Steve) Bruce, Nephew Chris, Niece Jamie, Nephew Andrew and many other family members who would have a heart-warming or funny story involving their beloved Laurie. Laurie was also a friend and nurturer to many furry friends throughout the years and loved all animals.
Tributes to Laurie may be made in her honor by donating to the Stafford Animal Shelter, 3 Business Park Rd. Livingston, MT 59047 or on their website, www.staffordanimalshelter.org
