Laurie Ann (Barnhart) Shuman, 73, of Watsontown, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. She was born Thursday, July 17, 1952 in Sunbury to the last Kenneth and Pauline (Seabold) Barnhart. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Harry H. Shuman.

She was the proud owner and operator of Dallas’s Place, a cherished restaurant in Dewart known not only for its food but for the warmth and care she extended to everyone who walked through its doors. Her passion for community and hospitality touched many lives. She was a spirited member of “The Question Marks,” a bowling team that competed at Faxon Bowling Lanes in Williamsport. Her competitive spirit and sense of fun made her a beloved teammate and friend. A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, she cheered her team on with the same passion she brought to every part of her life.

Above all, Laurie was devoted to her family. Her love for her grandsons knew no bounds—they were her pride and joy. Whether cheering from the sidelines at their sporting events or simply spending time with them, her face lit up with pride and joy. She shared 57 beautiful years with Harry, the love of her life. Their love was an inspiration to all who knew them.

She is survived by a son, Dallas Shuman and wife Alicia of Palmyra; two grandsons, Gaige Shuman and Grant Shuman of Palmyra; a brother Gary Barnhart and wife Lorainne Barnhart of Milton; a sister, Becky Bohner of Milton; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Chuck Barnhart.

At Laurie’s request, there will be no services. Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 has been entrusted with the care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Pennsylvania SPCA Central PA Center in Danville, 1467 Bloom Road, Danville, PA 17821.
