Laurie Wrzesinski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes - Lansing Chapel on Nov. 23, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Laurie Ann Wrzesinski, a lifelong resident of Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on December 4, 1957. Despite the challenges posed by her mental disability, Laurie approached every day with a kind heart and a spirited zest for life. Simple things like going on a car ride brought her joy, but nothing could match the delight in Laurie's eyes when she indulged in her favorite treats, Mountain Dew and Cheese Puffs. Her competitive nature shone brilliantly through her participation in the Wheelchair races during the Special Olympics. She also loved her dolls, music, and watching cartoons.
Laurie was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Nancy (Bellgowan) Wrzesinski, a brother, Richard Wrzesinski, a sister Cynthia Wrzesinski, and her nephew Matthew Wrzesinski. She is survived by her devoted siblings, Nancy (Mike) Crider, David (Julie) Wrzesinski, Karen Wrzesinski, and Gary (Alan Weaver) Wrzesinski; nephew and nieces, Jeremy, April, Cynthia, Katrina, Christy (Phil) Williams, Jennifer, Erin, and Lindsay (Jacob); great-nephews and great-nieces, Isaac, Caleb, Kyla, Grant, Jimmy, Kaitlyn, Levi, and Nova, a sister-in-law Christine Wrzesinski, and many cherished caregivers.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Bob Bacik as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday beginning at 9:30 AM until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Right to Life of Michigan.
