Lavena Mae Compton, 87, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loving family and friends, on September 21, 2025. She was born, April 23, 1938, in Livingston, Illinois, to her devoted parents, John and Violet Huddleston.

Lavena's life was a beautiful reflection of her faith and her love for others. She cherished every moment spent with her family, friends, and her sweet dog, Wendy. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering devotion to God touched the hearts of all who knew her.

She was a proud grandmother to John Niehaus and Scottie Niehaus; a loving great-grandmother to Noah Niehaus and Charles Niehaus, and best friend and aunt to Gail Schuster.

Lavena will be remembered for her faith, her joy, and the way she lived every day with gratitude and love. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, family, and laughter that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she held dear.
