LaVern A. Marg, 96, peacefully passed away on October 8, 2025.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Watertown, WI, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jerry Ewings officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Lutheran Ev. Cemetery in Watertown, WI, immediately following the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to the St. John's Lutheran Church stained glass window fund.
LaVern Arnold Marg was born on September 3, 1929, to parents William and Frieda (Dobbratz) Marg in Ixonia, WI. After graduating from Watertown High School, he began a long and dedicated career at Brandt Inc., where he worked for over 47 years until his retirement. On June 25, 1955, LaVern was united in marriage to Mavis Bachler. Together, they enjoyed 57 years of marriage.
LaVern was a big sports enthusiast and could often be found watching the Packers, Bucks, or Brewers games. When able, LaVern enjoyed a good game of golf. He was also a devoted and active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where his faith played a meaningful role in his life.
LaVern is survived by children, Bonnie Bleecker of Fort Atkinson, Diane (Larry) Neal of Watertown, and Bryan Marg of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Dana (Nic) Streich and Amy Schultz; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Streich, Addison Streich, Logan Schultz, and Ethan Schultz; as well as other relatives and friends.
LaVern was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Marg; parents, William and Frieda Marg; brother, Evertt (Mary) Marg; and sisters, Irene (Raymond) Uttech and Mildred Marg.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kat, Julie, and Jessica of Commonheart Hospice. A special thank you is also extended to all the angels at The View for watching over LaVern.
