Lavonne Nelson Obituary

After moving to Georgia, she worked for 15 years at General Electric as an administrative assistant. As a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church, she served as a Eucharistic minister, oftentimes giving Holy Communion to the sick and elderly. She belonged to several Bible studies and volunteered throughout her church. Lavonne, also known as Mimi, had a deep love for family, especially spending time with her granddaughters.
Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John Patrick Nelson.
Survivors include her children, Paul Nelson of Dawsonville and Jennifer Crowe (Chad) of Bremen; a sister, Marlene Opsahl (Warren) of Jamestown, North Dakota; and two grandchildren, Shelby Crowe and Emma Crowe both of Bremen.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated, with a private memorial service to follow at a later date.
