Lawana Lee McCusker, 79, Hancock, MD., passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Sterling Care in Boonsboro, MD.
Born March 25, 1944, in Artemas, PA., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Bertha Johnson Clingerman, and the widow of Gail V. McCusker, who passed away on May 25, 2022.
She was a member of the Hancock Assembly of God Church.
She enjoyed playing the organ, flowers and gardening.
She is survived by a son, Victor McCusker, and wife Mechelle; a daughter, Catona McCusker; four grandchildren, Ronnie Gaither, Derek Gaither, Devin McCusker, and Bryan McCusker; seven great-grandchildren, Kayde Gaither, Kayslee Gaither, Ashton Gaither, Aubrey McCusker, Everly McCusker, Alexis Trokonski and Henley McCusker; a brother, Vernon Clingerman; a sister, Vernelda “Snit” Jay; and several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Amelia Messersmith and Rosie Harvey; and two brothers, Dale and Addison Clingerman.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 3, 2023, 10-11:00 am, at Hancock Assembly of God Church, 431 North PA Ave., Hancock, MD. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 at the church. Reverend Donald Preston will officiate. Burial will be at the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, 14253 Exline Road, Hancock, MD.
Memorial donations can be made in Lawana’s name to Hancock Assembly of God Church.
