Lawana Storey, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and animal lover, passed away peacefully on October 20th, 2025. Her warm smile, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family and furry companions touched the lives of all who knew her. Lawana had a special gift for making everyone feel cared for, whether through her kind words, comforting hugs, or the way she tirelessly advocated for the well-being of animals. Her passion for life and her compassionate spirit will live on in the countless memories she created with those she held dear.
She is survived by her husband, Monty Storey (Married 55 years); her children, Nickie Storey (Alan Bailey), Brent Storey (Tracy), Rusty Storey (Laura), and Dustin Storey; her grandchildren, Britney, Courtney, Taylor, Brentley, Gage, Sydney, Mazie, and Emma; her great-grandchildren, Krew and Wylder; her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hall and Darlene Hall; and her numerous, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until service time on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the local Lagrange-Troup County Humane Society, in honor of her deep love for animals. Forever in our hearts, Lawana's legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
