Lawrence Atkinson age 84 of Guin, Alabama passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Born September 6, 1940, he is the Son of Roy and Ola Mae Harper Atkinson. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Guin. He graduated from the University of North Alabama and coached at Muscle Shoals High School. After moving back to Guin, he was Administrator of the Marion/Winston County Community Action
He is survived by a son, Brian Atkinson of Guin, three nephews, Randy (Kim) Howe, Tommy (Janine) Howe, Benjie Howe, great nieces and nephews, Whitney, Courtney, Kelli and Joey
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Stokes Atkinson, daughter, Karen Atkinson, sister Shelby Howe.
Services held Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM from the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Bro. Shannon Knight officiating.
