Lawrence “Bubba” Darwin Beasley, 75, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Beeville, Texas on December 27, 2025.
Bubba was born March 17, 1950, in Beeville, to Nance Beasley and Aggie Rae (Roy) Beasley. After high school graduation from A.C. Jones High School in 1969, he went on to earn an associate’s degree in business administration, paving the way for a distinguished career in aviation with contract civil service. He also proudly served in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of E-4 Sergeant, and in the United States Army, reaching the rank of SP4. These achievements serve as a testament to his unwavering dedication and commitment to service.
Bubba was an avid sports lover, always eager to watch high school and professional sports games. Fishing was another cherished pastime, allowing him to enjoy the tranquility of nature. Among his many interests, he was known for his impressive collection of memorabilia, particularly his extensive collection of elephant statues, pictures and figurines.
His generous spirit was evident in his devotion to charitable causes, making contributions to various organizations throughout his life. Bubba was a longtime member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. He had a particular fondness for family gatherings, where he enjoyed sharing his love of card games and passing down his knowledge to younger generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nance and Aggie Beasley, and his sister, Anne Roy.
A devoted family man, Bubba cherished his relationships with his loved ones, including his sisters, Shirley Jefferson of Beeville and Nancy Brown of Austin, as well as his brothers, Scott Beasley of Hollywood and Darryl and Mark Dana Beasley, both of Austin. He will also be missed by his numerous nieces and nephews, Veronica Howard, Monica (JP) Parks, Craig (Angie) Jefferson, Jay Brown, Farrah Brown, Bryan Beasley, Alyssa Beasley, Madison Beasley and Sydney Beasley, along with a host of grand-nieces and grand-nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2026, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville with a funeral service at 10 o’clock officiated by Pastor Oliver Greer.
Bubba will be laid to rest at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi at 1 o’clock that afternoon with Pastor Sheree Weller officiating.
Pallbearers will be Mark Beasley, Darryl Beasley, Craig Jefferson, Bryan Beasley, Jarrod Howard and Mike Wilson.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Julius Farris, Stanley Farris, Juan Cano, Robert Robinson, George Benavides and Walter Harvey.
A repass will follow at 3 p.m. at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church in Beeville.
