1952 - 2024

Lawrence Roger Disco, age 71, beloved husband, treasured father, and grandfather passed away on February 22, 2024 following a courageous battle with Covid. He had resided in Manchester, VT. Larry was born in Pittsfield, MA on April 13, 1952, son of the late Lillian and Roger Disco. He attended local schools and was active in sports. Following his graduation from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1975, he began his career as a registered pharmacist in Pittsfield. He married his wife, Janice, in 1976, and the two raised their family in Bennington, VT. While there, Larry was a longtime member of the Bennington Fire Department serving in the Stark Hose Company. He enjoyed the teamwork and camaraderie of the department and was a tireless firefighter. He served on committees for the Battle Day Parade and other fire department activities. Using his many talents, Larry enjoyed restoring the family's historic home in Manchester and creating and maintaining incredible gardens on the property. Throughout his life, Larry was interested in history, politics, and sports. He was an avid New York Giants fan. Besides his wife, Larry leaves his sons, Michael (Erin), Bryan (Abygail), Daniel (Stephanie), his grandchildren, Brooke, James, Elsie, and Crosby, his sister, Karen (Dave), his brother, Robert, and his two cats, Whiskey and Rye. Calling hours will be held at Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home at 213 Main Street, Bennington VT on Thursday, February 29th from 1PM - 3 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 238 Main Street in Bennington on Friday, March 1st at 11AM. A private burial will be held in the spring.
