Lawrence Duckworth Jr

Lawrence Duckworth, Jr. age 81 of Ozark, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, in his home. He was born February 22, 1943, to his parents, Lawrence Duckworth, Sr. and Alta (Wheeler) Duckworth. On August 24, 1963, Jr. was united in marriage to Rosalie Ridlen.
During 1966 through 1968 Jr. proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and after completing his service he received an honorable discharge. Jr. was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt and especially mow grass in the Summertime. He was well-known for his sense of humor and as the funny jokester by his nieces and nephews. Jr. was a longtime dedicated employee in the car detailing business and worked for both Paul Schaubach Chevrolet and Dennis Hanks Chevrolet. After many years of service, Jr. retired in 2004. During the Winter months, his neighbors benefited from his assistance with plowing the snow from their driveways and was willing to always help everyone. NASCAR was a favorite sport for Jr. and he always enjoyed choosing the winner. Jr. will be sadly missed but his loving memory will live on forever in the hearts of his wonderful family and he will be remembered by his many friends.
Jr. is survived by his loving wife Rosalie; brother Larry Duckworth and wife Wanda; two sister Anita DeArmond and Jalane Childress and husband Ed, several nieces, nephews, and other caring relatives. Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.
Arrangements and services are under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri. Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. No formal visitation is planned but a luncheon will be held following the service at the Selmore Christian Church, 4731 Selmore Road, Ozark, Missouri. The Greater Ozarks Warriors' Watch Riders will provide cemetery motorcycle escort and flag-line in honor of Jr's military service.
