Lawrence Glassman, 85, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at 7:15 a.m., Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Brickyard in La Porte.

He was born April 26, 1940, in Michigan City to Harry and Lydia (Irk) Glassman.

Lawrence was stationed in Germany and worked as an MP in the US Army, being discharged on July 31, 1969.

Lawrence worked at Josams and farmed. He enjoyed being outside and working around the farm.

He is survived by his significant other of 42 years, Marie Culbertson; children, John (Melissa) Culbertson, Janelle (Charles) McLemore, Bradley and Brian Glassman; two sisters, Rose Deutscher, and Fran Pollard; grandchildren, Jacob (Kaitlyn) Glassman, William (Jessie) Culbertson, Alicia (Eric Messer) Pontious, Haley (Ryan) Elcock, and Marissa Veden; great-grandchildren, Jansyn, Isabella, Kylynn, Maya, Kayden, Kiaya and Xiolani, and one due in November, and several nieces and nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Lorn Brent Glassman and James Culbertson; brothers, Charles, George, and Harvey Glassman; sisters, Shirley Shepperson, and Betty York.

Cremation will take place. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte (219) 362-3100 are caring for the arrangements.
