Lawrence E. Goodlin, 85, of Columbus, OH and originally Akron, passed away on December 7, 2024.
Larry was born on July 20, 1939, to Everett and Elizabeth in South Euclid, OH. After Larry graduated from Kent-Roosevelt High School, he went on to study Education and received a BA from Kent State University.
Larry taught English and Literature in the Cuyahoga Falls school system for many years. He taught at Richardson Elementary, Preston Elementary, Cuyahoga Falls High School & Bolich Middle School. Larry had a passion for teaching and loved his students. He was very proud of all of them and enjoyed fond memories. He loved to run into students many years later and find out what they had made of themselves.
Larry was very passionate and knowledgeable of antiques and collectables. He loved to find beautiful pieces of furniture and art. He owned The Consignment Gallery for many years and had many friends in business.
Larry was very caring and friendly. He had many lifelong friends, whom he would check-in on and speak with regularly. Later in life, Larry moved to Columbus to be closer to family and was active with the Bexley Library and the Bexley Senior Group.
He is survived by Rick Goodlin (brother), Diane Filippi (sister), Matthew (Julie) Goodlin (Son), Ryan Goodlin (Grandson), Sean Goodlin (Grandson). Nieces and Nephews, Erin, Megan, Tracy, Kelly, Patrick.
Calling Hours will be held at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1903 Front Street Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 1-4 pm. He will be laid to rest privately at Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Heights, OH.
