Lawrence R. Gruss

Lawrence R. "Larry" Gruss, 87, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2025, at Kingston Care Center in Fort Wayne, after a brief illness. Mr. Gruss was a graduate of Benedictine High School in East Cleveland and Max Hays Trade School. He was employed as a commercial electrician and foreman for forty-two years with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 38 and was twice winner of the Cleveland Builders Exchange Craftsmanship Ward. Larry was also a veteran of the United States Army. He was devoted to his Catholic faith and was a faithful member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Lawrence R. "Larry Gruss was born on December 12, 1938, in East Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Mikolay) Gruss.

Survivors include, two sons, Joseph "Jay" (and Lisa) Gruss and Robert Gruss; one daughter Ann Walker; five grandchildren: and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Dolores Gruss and Joan Kintner.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Rd. Ft. Wayne, with Reverend Caleb Kruse officiating. The family will receive visitors in the church for one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are requested to St. Mary's Soup Kitchen.
