Geralyn Marie "Gigi" Gruss (Price) ObituaryGeralyn "Gigi" Gruss (Price), 73, of Chanhassen, Minnesota passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2nd 2025. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many.
Raised in St. Paul Minnesota, Gigi attended St. Leo's Grade School, Highland Park Junior High and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1970. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Mankato State University in Business in 1974 and received her Master's of Education Degree from St. Catherine, with honors, in 1999.
Gigi was preceded in death by her mother Rosemary Price and her "grandparents" Mary Frances and Wesley Figgins. She is survived by her children Lauren Gruss and Daniel Gruss (Jodi) and grandchildren Averie and William Gruss.
In her professional life, Gigi traveled the world as a flight attendant for North Central Airlines, Republic Airlines and Northwest Airlines. She took time off to raise her children and later, entered the education field as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher.
Gigi's beautiful smile and laugh lit up the room and she brought joy to everyone around her. She was known for her bubbly personality, warmth and gentle spirit. She adored children and was passionate about their care; this made her a great teacher.
Gigi was very active in the Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Delta Tau chapter at Mankato State. Her sorority sisters became lifelong friends; they enjoyed many happy reunions throughout the years.
Gigi spent a lot of time outside, getting sun and tending to her flowers. Above all, she loved being a mom.
Gigi had a kind heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those around her. She was a devout Catholic and attended St. John the Baptist Church in Excelsior, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 PM Tuesday, August 12th at St. John the Baptist, 680 Mill Street, Excelsior, with visitation an hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greater Good Charity online.
