Mr. Lawrence Hopkins, Jr., 79, passed away Sunday evening, August 31st, 2025, while at home with his family.
Mr. Hopkins was born in Darlington County, a son of the late Lawrence, Sr. & Martha Gainey Hopkins. He was Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. Lawrence retired from Dixie Cup after 19 years of service. He enjoyed word searches, looking at coins, and liked NASCAR.
Surviving is his wife, Sharon Flowers Hopkins; children: Shannon Todd Hopkins, April Leigh (George) Giancola, and Jason Kyle Hopkins; grandchildren: Ashelley Nicole Poland, Sarah Naomi Sumner, Cameryn Elizabeth Sumner, Christopher Orphan Giancola, Hannah Faith Hopkins, and James Andrew Vanhorn; great-grandchildren: Isabella Leanne Poland, Hunter Dean Poland, and Sergio Joel Lawrence Poland; siblings: Mae Horne, Nancy Rhodes, Virginia Hopkins, David Buck Hopkins, Robin Alexander, and Dwayne Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Eugene Hopkins and Annie Ruth Driggers.
The family will hold a memorial service at 1 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, September 6th, 2025, from Dovesville Church of God.
