I was saddened when I heard that Uncle Lawrence has passed. I will always remember the times my mom would take me on the bus to visit Uncle Lawrence and the each Sunday after church he would stop by the house. I especially remember Uncle fussing at me for my surprise visit to my mom after she had gotten out of the hospital. He said, "Debra, you know your mother shouldn't be shocked like that." He said that out of love.
Well. Uncle Lawrence is now with his brothers Dan, William, Ernest, Hezie and Uly and his sister, Helen, aka "Red" (as they all called her) watching over all of us.
May God bless all of our family.

To our Dear Cousin Lawrence Jr. and All of Our Richmond Hubbard, Hobson and Walker Family Members,

We were saddended to learn from our niece and cousin, Alyce Jean, of the passing of our beloved cousin "Big" Lawrence last week. We regret that we are unable to travel from Greensboro, NC to be with you during the service of remembrance and celebration of his life.

Though we will all miss Lawrence's physical presence among us, we will never forget his smile, his laugther, his jokes, his dedication to his work, his church, and his community. Most of all we will always cherish his unending love and commitment to his entire family.

We find comfort in knowing that his Spirit has been set free to mingle in Glory with those in our family who preceded him along this portion of life's journey.

Our entire church family, Faith Community Church, pastored by your cousin the Rev. Nelson N. Johnson, joins us in wishing all of you God's comfort during this period of bereavement.

With much love and prayers for peace,

Carrie Hobson Brooks, Herbert D. Hobson, and Joyce Hobson Johnson and Family, GREENSBORO, NC
