Lawrence (Larry) Jensen, 84, of Sandwich, IL passed away on February 13, 2024. Larry was born on December 7, 1939 in Ottawa, IL to George Thomas and Willow (Fisher) Thomas. Willow later married Myron Jensen who raised Larry on the family farm.
Larry was educated in Newark schools then joined the U.S. Air Force. Larry worked for 35 years at Allsteel Inc in Aurora, IL and was a manufacturing engineer till Allsteel closed in 1994. Larry moved to Madison, Indiana and worked for Grote Manufacturing for the next 8 years. He and his wife Judy moved back to Illinois where he worked for Home Depot in Oswego and Yorkville for the next 10 years. He loved the work and could fix most things so he could help people with their DIY jobs.
Larry is preceded in death by his son, Christopher; His parents; In-laws, Harvey and Veronica Mock; Brothers-in-law, Clyde Glenn, David Matteson and Charles Ray; Sister-in-law, Ronnie Ray and Carol Glenn.
He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Judy (Mock) Jensen; Son, Larry (Nancy) Jensen and children Lauren, Natalie and Anna; Son, James (Pam) and children Brooke and Tyler; And Chris’s children, Emily and Casey; Great grandchildren, Aubree, Christopher and Serenity; Sisters, Billie Jean Matteson, Janey Adkins; Brother, Steven (Sue) Jensen; As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry will be greatly missed by his family and remembered as a good and kind man.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 10:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL 60548. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. with a committal service to take place afterwards at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Bristol, IL.
