Lawrence "Larry" Kopp, 77 of Canal Fulton, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2023 while under hospice care at home. He was born on December 7, 1945 in Canton and graduated from Bowling Green State University. Larry served in the US Army intelligence from 1967-1970 and was deployed in Viet Nam. He retired in 2007 from the Canton Post Office after 30 years of service. Larry enjoyed collecting Hotwheels and Matchbox cars, playing board games and cards. His biggest enjoyment in life was watching his extremely talented grandson, Timmy, play baseball.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Kopp and mother, Helen (Feik) Kopp; in-laws, Don and Violet DeLand.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Barbara (DeLand) Kopp; daughters, Lindsay Christine and Michelle (Timothy) Gross; grandson, Timmy G.; sister, Lynne Samblanet; brothers-in-law, Richard (Dianne) DeLand, Robert (Patty) DeLand and John (De) DeLand; many nieces and nephews; special lifetime friends Tom (Joyce) Bair and Ron (Barb) Cornell.
The family would like to thank Community Care Hospice and the Canton VA for all their help and support.
Funeral Services will be held THURSDAY, March 2, 2023, 11:00am at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton with Pastor Shaun Green officiating. Visitation Wednesday, 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home and also one hour prior to service time on Thursday. Per Larry's wishes cremation will follow the services and no burial will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Community Care Hospice or the Canton VA.
