Lawrence A. Lofquist, 79, of Colona passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Friday, September 26, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Colona. Visitation will be 9am to the service time at Schroder Mortuary in Colona. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of America.

Larry was born September 14, 1946, in Rock Island, IL the son of William and Eleanor Koch Lofquist. He married Linda Cones in 1970. Larry was a heavy machine mechanic and operator working 28 years for Local 150 and 48 years working for Local 537.

He enjoyed restoring John Deere farm tractors and he loved mowing the lawn.

Larry is survived by his children Amy (Josh) Boyd, Daniel (Lisa) Lofquist, and Amber Grobe. Grandchildren Katelynn, Baylie, Paige, Miracle, TJ, Hunter, Dakota, Keegan, Logan, Ethan, Braytan, Hillary, Hannah, Hailey; great grandchildren Zeppelin, Brody, Olivia, Hendrix, Madison, and one on the way; sister Julie (Joe) Aring and brothers Kim (Betty) Lofquist and Billy Lofquist. 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kelly Lofquist, sister Linda Ludwig, brother Robert Lofquist, and an uncle Edward Koch.
