Lawrence Wardell Morrison

Lawrence Wardell Morrison, who considered himself blessed with a good life, passed away March 4, 2024, at the age of 98 in his daughter's home in Alabama. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his "Dolly", Inez Lorentzen Morrison.
Larry grew up in Manhasset, NY, until attending Bordentown Military Academy in New Jersey. During WWII he proudly served his country as a Navy Seabee on the island of Okinawa in the 6th Battalion, which received the Presidential Unit Citation.
Larry and Inez met on a blind date and married in 1952, moved to Hollis, NH in 1954, where they raised their daughters while Larry began his successful career as a salesman and business owner.
Larry and Inez spent over 60 years in Hollis where Larry volunteered in many capacities. He proudly retired early, which allowed them to enjoy time at their house on Lake Winnipesaukee. He was an accomplished woodworker, sailor, and a lifelong Mason. Upon retirement, Larry became active in the Lakes Region Seabee organization. He stayed busy doing "home owner" projects and leaving his signature "Larry loves Inez" everywhere he went.
Larry is survived by his 3 daughters: Robin Harper (m. James Harper-deceased), Holly Drazen (m. Dan Drazen) and Penny Morrison (m. Jack McCauley) 5 grandchildren: Carl Morrison Harper (Beth), Lillian Pelland (Kevin), Jeffrey Lawrence Morrison Sliwa, Ryen Lapham (Lacey), Zane Lapham (Jill), 7 great grandchildren: Edward Morrison Harper, Eleanor Harper, Ingrid Harper, Jameson Pelland, Flora Pelland, Lawrence "Ren" Lapham and Edwin Lapham as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Larry was known for his laugh, his positive attitude and zest for life. He loved a good football game, a tall gin and tonic, engaging in animated banter with friends, listening to music, the sound of rain on the roof, storytelling, watching sunsets over the lake, admiring babies, and talking to strangers. He was most proud of his greatest accomplishments; his three daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; all of whom will forever hold him in their hearts.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 4-6pm at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock Street, Nashua, New Hampshire 03064. Interment will be the following day at the NH Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH 03303, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lakes Region Conservation Trust or a veteran's organization of your choice.
