Larry "Big Lar" Nowakowski, age 81, of Glenshaw, passed away at AGH on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from ongoing health complications. He is survived by his three children, Dean, Gina, and Larry; "Big Lar" also has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren , all of whom live in the greater Pittsburgh area. Larry dedicated four years of his young adulthood to serving in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in France and Germany for a brief period in the early 1960's. He spent many of his later years working at Main Beer Distributor in Sharpsburg, PA, employed by Buddy Sundo. Larry loved doo-wop music and the radio DJ Porky Chedwick. Larry also had a passion for motorcycles. He owned multiple Harley-Davidson motorcycles throughout his life, and inspired others to acquire their own iron horses. He also loved animals; all God's creatures. These interests he passed on to his surviving sons and daughter. He will be missed by his family and those who enjoyed his sarcasm and colorful outlook on life.
As per Big Lar's wishes, there will be no services held.
