Lawrence W. Schile was born on July 12, 1938, to Bartle and Louise (Voss) Schile on the family farm near Wetonka, SD. He was raised on the farm and worked alongside his family before becoming a skilled carpenter. Lawrence was employed by Wangler Brothers Construction and Leonard Biegler Construction before eventually starting his own business. Lawrence continued construction and farming.

On August 29, 1959, Lawrence married Janet Schmidt at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The couple shared 66 wonderful years together and were blessed with two children, Teresa and Douglas. They continued to make their home on the farm, where many cherished family memories were made.

After retiring from his construction business due to health issues, Lawrence began working part-time as a delivery driver for Kessler's-a job he truly enjoyed. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Lawrence was known for his strong work ethic, big heart, and deep love for his family.

Lawrence loved camping with their family at the Brown County Fair and Wylie Park, especially with their granddaughters, Grace and Laura, fishing for croppies on Richmond Lake and hunting in the fall. The couple also enjoyed traveling and taking the occasional bus tour together.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Janet; son, Douglas (Jaci) Schile; granddaughters Grace and Laura; brother-in-law Chuck (Sandra) Schmidt; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Teresa, brothers Elmer and Dwayne, and sister-in-law Bonnie.
