Whitney & Murphy Funeral HomeLawrence Andrew Schuman III passed away at the age of 56 on October 2, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was surrounded by his wife Monica, siblings Tim Schuman and Tracy Lange and father-in-law Michael Lessard. He was born in New York City on September 4, 1969, to Larry and Barbara Schuman and was the youngest of three children. The family moved to and from Phoenix a couple of times and they settled in the valley to stay in 1979.
Lawrence married Monica Lessard in 1999. He enjoyed classical history, and in 2001 graduated from ASU with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining family for the holidays. Lawrence loved to make people laugh and was often quick with a joke. He enjoyed reading political commentaries, science fiction novels, playing strategic computer games and watching sci-fi movies as well as reaction videos relating to anything from food to movies. When he was younger, Lawrence enjoyed exploring the high country of Arizona and taught himself Kung-Fu. Most especially, he loved being Dad to his daughter Olivia and Uncle to Savannah, Rebecca, Nick and Ryan. He worked as an accountant for several companies and his last position held was with Primera LLC as a Senior Accountant.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his mother Barbara, and survived by his father Larry (Esther), his wife Monica Schuman, daughter Olivia Schuman, siblings Tim Schuman (Karen) and Tracy Lange (Mark), nieces Savannah Schuman (Zach Stevens) and Rebecca Rich (Davis) and their baby (Lawrence's great niece) Gwendolyn, and nephews Nick Lange and Ryan Schuman. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral service will be held at Praise and Worship Center at 10 am on Saturday, October 25th located at 2551 N Arizona Ave, Unit 3, Chandler, AZ 85225. In lieu of flowers, donations to be used for Olivia’s ASU tuition will be most appreciated.
