Larry Singleton, 71, of Akron, passed away April 15th due to long-term complications of diabetes. Born in Marietta, OH, he was part of a large family that moved back to Akron in 1958 when he was just under five years old.

A good student and a gifted young athlete, Larry finished high school in three years and went out into the world to discover what he could. He discovered that he was a talented jeweler, a good supervisor in the security business and, as in his youth, he loved to fish. Larry was an avid outdoorsman and happiest when on the river. When at home, he loved being with his dogs. A member of the Summit Sportsmen's Association and the Ohio Central Basin Steelheaders, he was well known for his smoked fish in the Akron area. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Thomas Singleton, brother-in-law Frank Thomas, sisters Nancy Roth of Akron and Barb Alesch of Wheaton, IL, along with his twin brother David (Paula) of Akron, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Norman and Mary Jane Singleton, sister Sandy Smith, and brother Jim Singleton, all of Akron.

Per his wishes, cremation has occurred. No formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Summit Sportsmen's Association, St. Sebastian Parish Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
