I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Layman Gattis. Layman has been a life long friend as well as a neighbor for many years in Trona, Ca. where we were classmates and graduated from H.S. in 1962. Layman and his family lived at the bottom of Clover St. in Trona along with brother James and our homes were only separated by a few hundred yards from each other. Layman was a prolific motorcycle rider in his younger days and participated in many races including the Baha 500.
Layman will be remembered for his terrific smile, sense of humor and innate ability to make friends as quickly as he met someone.
My condolences to the family during this difficult time and pray that all who knew and loved Layman will retain wonderful memories of a friend gone far too soon.
