Leah Lambert Obituary

Published by FitzHenry-Wiefels Indio Mortuary on Oct. 23, 2016.
A precious mother, grandmother, friend, teacher, but foremostly a steadfast and fearless servant of God, Leah Jean Lambert was taken home to be with Jesus Christ, her beloved Savior and the Lord of her life, on Sunday, October 23, 2016. To her children and grandchildren, Leah was one of the most fearless and passionate of women. Never daunted by adversity, her courage and passion provided her with dynamic and rich experiences. Leah was an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a health practitioner, a lecturer, an evangelist, a caregiver, and student, to name a few of her accomplishments. She was a tireless advocate for preventive medicine, and her research and studies in the field of medicine, spanning four decades, was years ahead of comtemporary medical paradigms and practices. She truly was a pioneer in the field of medicine. Leah was defined by her passion and courage, but she was also defined by commitment to following Christ. In every circumstance, whether favorable or ill, Leah held on to the hope of the Gospel message, that Christ loved her and died on a cross to take on her sins. She lived each day knowing that she was saved by the grace of God through faith in Christ, and that her salvation was a gift (Esphesians 2:8), For Leah, there was no greater joy than to be in a love relationship with Jesus. Wherever she was and with whomever she met, Leah would faithfully share the good news of salvation in Christ. All aspects of her life were rooted in Him, and she was constantly seeking to grow in her relationship with him. Reading God's word and communicating with him in prayer were vital to her health as a Christian. Her desire was (that Christ would be glorified through her) that others would experience the beauty and transformative power of God's love as she had...her faith in God was her legacy. Leah was survived by her four children, David, Melanie, Elizabeth, and Rebecca, and her five grandchildren, Brittany, Kelsie, Ashley, Austin, and Gracelyn, each of whom was invariably impacted by her life of courage, passion, love, and faithfulness. Her love as a mother and grandmother was modeled after the selfless and enduring love of Christ. She counted others as more significant than herself (Philippians 2:3) and unconditionally cared for the needs of her children and grandchildren, mending their wounds and encouraging them with the Word of God through every trail. The loss of Leah Jean Lambert left a hole in the heart of her loved ones that will never be filled...until we see her again. Mom, Mimi, we love you. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Mercyships.org or Animal Samaritan's or to the GoFundMe.com/Leah Jean Lambert Account would be appreciated by the family.

Mom -

You taught me so many wonderful life lessons and skills that I've carried on through my life, and am now passing down to my children. I never understood your sacrifices and struggles until I became a mother myself. You were a great Mama!

The most valuable gift you gave me, though, was your spiritual guidance and examples of love through your walk with Jesus Christ. So many children don't get the luxury of having a "Prayer Warrior" for a Mom. I pray that I can follow in your footsteps and lead my children in a Christ-filled life just as you did.

I love you, Mom...Becky

My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going. John 14:2-4

Gracie's love and compassion for Our Lord Jesus Christ and to share the Word was her everything. "From the heart flow the springs of life. and without one's will, desires, passions, affections, perceptions, and thoughts rightly aligned, the life of love is impossible."

.She is with Jesus now watching over her daughters. You may be gone from our sight BUT you will never be done from our hearts
