Leah Rae (Holly) Mills passed away Saturday November 8th, 2025 in Montgomery Illinois;
surrounded by family members and her beloved dog, Oreo, after a short battle with lung cancer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Mills, and her son James Nelson;
and is survived by her children; Tracy Shachtay, Scott Mills (Tari), and Paul Mills (Karla),
her step-children Donald Mills (Lisa) and Donna Tittle, daughter in law Marilyn Nelson,
and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with countless friends.
She is also survived by her brothers; Ray, Kirk, and Mark;
and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Holly was born December 11 1944 in Texas,
and over the course of her life also lived in Indiana, Michigan and Mississippi.
She had a wide ranging and diverse career before retiring in the early 2000's.
She loved music, playing cards, and working on puzzles.
There will be a small private ceremony, and no marker will be placed, per her wishes.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to American Cancer Association
or American Association for Cancer Research.
Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 S. Douglas Road, P. O. Box 665, Oswego, Illinois 60543-0665
