Leah Lewis Nash, 89, of Staley passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at her residence.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, December 15, 2025 at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro with Rev. Barry Presnell officiating.

Leah was born in Nicholas County, West Virginia to the late Burl and Mabel Whitt Lewis. She grew up in a family of twelve children and in later years made her way to North Carolina. Leah was a likeable person and was loved by all who knew her. She had a sweet, caring spirit and could so lovingly put you in your place if needed. Leah enjoyed serving others which was evident by her years of waitressing at the Waffle House and various other restaurants. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Crandal Curry, and her siblings, Howard, Hugh and Arley Lewis, Pearl Gilley, Nellie McClung, Sue Carper, Glenna Curry, Vernie Brown, Jim Lewis and Ruby Williams.

Leah is survived by her children, Linda Ratliffe (Adrian) of Staley, Robert Wayne Curry of Staley, Tammy Cool of Rainelle, WV, Terri Martin (Rusty) of Greensboro, brother, John Henry Lewis (Joan) of Kansas City, grandchildren, Michele Browning (Timothy), Daniel Barnhouse (Kimberly), Michael Curry, Jamie Roop (Jeremy), Anthony Curry, Jessica Boyce, Scott Ellison, Leah Pierson (Will), Jody Bess (Emilee), sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews.
