Warren Nash Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Martin & Hightower Funeral Home - Carrollton on Mar. 2, 2026.
Willis Warren Nash Jr. entered eternal rest on March 1, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by kindness, steady service, and a heart that never outgrew its love for superheroes. Born on July 14, 1960, to the late Willis Warren Nash Sr. and Lois Eugenia "Janie" McMichen Nash, Warren grew up with a strong sense of loyalty to family, faith, and community; values that shaped every chapter of his life.

To know Warren was to know his smile. It came easily, often accompanied by a laugh. He believed in doing good quietly, helping where he could, and standing up for others in simple, everyday ways.

For many years, Warren faithfully served as an Intake Processor for Community Action for Improvement. He approached his work not as a job, but as a calling. Every person who sat across from his desk was treated with dignity and compassion. He understood that sometimes the greatest help you can offer someone is patience and respect. His coworkers remember him as dependable and sincere; those he assisted remember him as someone who truly cared.

His commitment to service extended beyond the workplace. As a member of the Civil Air Patrol, Warren embraced the discipline and purpose that came with serving others. He valued teamwork, leadership, and the opportunity to be part of something larger than himself.

Faith was a cornerstone of his life. At Glenloch Baptist Church, Warren found both spiritual strength and deep fellowship. He was a faithful member who treasured his church family and the bonds formed there. Whether in worship or in conversation, he lived out his faith in quiet, consistent ways.

Above all, Warren loved his family. He is survived by his significant other, Angel Swanger; his sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Shannon Sumner; his brothers and sister-in-law, Joe Nash, and Richard and Leigh Ann Nash; and his nieces and nephews, Jeremy T. Nash, Ryan W. Nash, Kelly E. Collins, Mark A. Podlisny, Violet E. Nash, Ben Sumner, Katie Herline, Kevin R. Podlisny, Waylon W. Nash, and Conner J. Gaddy. Their memories are filled with his humor, his steady presence, and the way he showed up when it mattered most. He was a brother, a partner, and a friend whose loyalty never wavered.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Warren's life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Glenloch Baptist Church, with Pastor Neil Awbrey officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 PM. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in the church cemetery, with Joe Nash, Mark Podlisny, Ryan Nash, Richard Nash, Kevin Marshal, Jerry Prince, Jeff Rood, and Shannon Sumner serving as pallbearers.

The family will also receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home.

Warren's life reminds us that heroism is often found in everyday faithfulness, in steady work, gentle words, and a willingness to help others without seeking recognition. Though he has laid down his earthly burdens, the light he carried lives on in the many lives he touched.
