Leah was a partner of Alladin Travel Agency in Downtown Meridian; as a result of this business, she was able to travel to many parts of the world and destinations abroad. She was a wonderful cook and loved entertaining family and friends and sharing memories of the “The Good Ole Days.” A devoted mother and grandmother, her grandchildren lovingly called her “Nana” which was her proudest accomplishment. Leah loved gardening and enjoyed taking walks with her friends. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Meridian, where she was married in the chapel in November 1955; and loved attending as long as her health permitted. An avid pet enthusiast, Leah loved caring for her own pets and spoiling her children’s dogs when they visited.
Mrs. Shannon is survived by her sons, Len Shannon (Rhonda) and David Shannon (Judy); grandchildren, Braden Shannon, Neil Shannon (Fiancé Drew), and Kellie Shannon; as well as a host of friends and extended family members.
Leah is preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Leonard Shannon; and her parents, Walter and Sadie Lockard.
