Carol Anne Ledig-Volk

Carol Anne Ledig-Volk, age 71, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on September 20, 2025, while vacationing at Lake Vermilion. Born on June 4, 1954, in Newark, New Jersey, Carol was the daughter of the late Richard Ledig Jr. and Ruthmary Fitzgerald Ledig. She grew up in Newark and graduated from Vailsburg High School in 1972. In 1975 she earned two simultaneous degrees-an Associate of Science from Union College and an RN Diploma from Muhlenberg Hospital School of Nursing-preparing her for a lifelong career in nursing. She devoted her professional life to caring for patients with compassion and dedication. On December 1, 1990, Carol married Dr. Randall "Randy" Volk in Princeton, New Jersey. Together they made their home in Manahawkin, New Jersey, where they spent many years before relocating to Eden Prairie, Minnesota, in 2012 when Randy became head plastic surgeon at Sono Bello in Edina. Carol and Randy built a life filled with love, mutual support, and treasured memories. Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Randy; her sister and dearest friend, Linda Ledig; and her extended family: Karen Volk, Scott Volk, Greg (Ruth) Volk, and nieces and nephews Marjie Volk, Jeremy (Jamila) Volk, Francie (Brandon) Swanson, and Tommy (Noel) Volk. She was preceded in death by her parents. Carol loved traveling and especially cherished summer trips to northern Minnesota. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and care for others, as well as for the joy she brought to family and friends. Her gifts of encouragement and support touched everyone she knew. Services will be held Monday, October 13, at 11 a.m. at Washburn-McReavy Eden Prairie Chapel, 7625 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to a charity of your choice.
