Lee Hampton Archer, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Hacienda Oaks Nursing & Rehab where he had resided for several years.
Lee was born in Beeville on January 14, 1937, to Alex Lee and Lucille (Bell) Archer. A lifelong resident of Beeville, Lee attended public schools and graduated from A.C. Jones High School in 1955. He began working at Hall’s Department Store during high school, which led to a career in sales with the popular local store. Lee was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Beeville, where he served as Deacon and Elder, Sunday School Superintendent and choir member for many years. He was also a member of the Windmill Emmaus community. He enjoyed music, nature, travel and church activities in his leisure time.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved aunts, Genelle Bell, whom he cared for in her later years, and Willie (Bell) Martin.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church in Beeville with the funeral service at 11 o’clock. Rev. Don Taylor will officiate with music to be provided by Cheryl Roberts and Debbie Fulton. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Calvert, Jon Fischer, Richard Galloway, Larry McClintock, John Rader and Gary Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Rider and Larry Knocke.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 908 N. Washington, Beeville, TX 78102.
