Lee Alexander Davidson
Aiken - Lee Alexander Davidson, 86, passed away peacefully at home in Aiken, South Carolina on February 21, 2026. Born in Bryan, Ohio, he was the son of the late Frank and Edith Davidson of Fairborn, Ohio. Surviving are his wife Katherine Davidson; daughter Anne Roberts (Elton) of Montana; son John Davidson of Florida; sister-in-law Nancy Davidson of Ohio; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. His son Charles Davidson and brothers Robert Davidson, Roy Davidson, and Lynn Davidson preceded him in death.
Lee was an avid Boy Scout, becoming an Eagle Scout and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow. While still in high school, Lee entered the US Navy Reserve and started training. After graduating from Fairborn High School, he went straight into the engineering division in the Navy Reserve. Through the years, he was assigned to various stations and destroyers, and called into active duty for a time before he was discharged.
Lee then attended Ohio University where he earned both his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he went to work as an electrical engineer for Esso Research and Engineering (now Exxon/Mobil) in Florham Park, NJ. His entire career was spent with Exxon, retiring after 31 years. During that time, he took many overseas assignments requiring relocation. He lived with his family in Singapore, Okinawa, Wales, Belgium, Aruba, England, and Holland; taking shorter assignments to India, Norway, Germany, Greece, France, and Italy.
In 1988 Lee married Katherine Schroeder in Morristown, NJ and began a new chapter of his life. They were/are lifelong members of the Presbyterian Church in Morristown, participating in the chancel and handbell choirs while in New Jersey. After relocating to South Carolina, Lee continued to play handbells in the First Presbyterian Church in Aiken and also joined and performed with the Aiken Singers. Lee also contributed his time and energy to researching family lineages for himself and others, aided senior citizens with their tax returns, and played sudoku.
His loss is felt deeply by his family.

So sorry to read of the passing of Lee. I met Lee as he was a devoted member of the Aiken Singers. He kept everyone with updates, pictures roster. If someone was ill he would call me to send card to member with address or loss in family. Rest in peace Lee. You left your mark for those who knew and loved you. Catherine Moore

Lee was a dedicated member of the Aiken Singers. Along with singing, he kept the choir roster with pictures up-to-date. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. My sincerest sympathy, Paulette Owens
