Edith Joan Hill

Edith Joan Hill, 86, of Staatsburg passed away on March 3, 2026, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie following a brief illness.

Born May 6, 1939, in Hudson, NY, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Martha Lauster.

Edith worked at the former Merritt Sample Company and Kem Cards, both of which were in Poughkeepsie.

She was the beloved wife of Melvin R. Hill, who predeceased her in June 2019.

Edith was the devoted mother to Colleen and Steven, both of Poughkeepsie, Alan of Staatsburg, and Sheri of Los Angeles, CA; and loving grandmother to Allison (Peter) Hill-Hudson of East Greenbush, NY.

She is also survived by her brother, Harold (Mary Ann) of Aiken, SC, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be private.
