Age 86, of Greentree, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Lee was the son of the late Lee N. and Valletta (Yinger) Hammond. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary E. Hammond (Bykens); his beloved daughters, Melissa and Melanie Hammond; and his sister, Kathy McCloskey (Jack). Lee is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a sister, Carol Meserve. Lee worked at Sears from his high school graduation until his retirement as a Department Manager in 1996. In his spare time, he coached both daughters softball and swimming teams.
All are welcome, Monday, April 28, 2025 from 10 AM until the time of his blessing service at 12 PM, WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 412-563-2800. Lee’s dear friends Fr. Thomas Burke and Fr. Stephen Kresak will officiate the services. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart of the Nation, PO Box 14428, Milwaukee, WI 53214, www.heartofthenation.org.
