Lee Horvath Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home & Crematory Services, Pittsfield on May 14, 2025.
PALMYRA-Lee S. Horvath, 76, died peacefully on May 13, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Palmyra.
He was born on May 7, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late Elmer and Theresa (Rumya) Horvath. He worked in auto parts sales for many years and was a dedicated firefighter in several departments. It was the joy of his life to be able to serve and help others on the fire department.
Lee was quick witted, loved to joke, and could be sarcastically funny. He enjoyed old westerns, NASCAR, and listening to his beloved Rock and Roll. He was particularly good at naming the tune after a few notes were played.
He is survived by his partner of 21 years, Sheryl Vanadestine of Palmyra; brother, Duane Horvath and wife Sandra of OH; sons: Matthew Veatch and wife Aralyn of TX and David Horvath and wife Janel of PA; stepson, Jacob Vanadestine and partner Beth of Palmyra; grandchildren: Jazzy, Alana, Alyvia, and Mila of TX, Rachel, Ella, and Jackson of PA, and Karmyn and Destiny of ME; daughter-in-law, Camille Wells; mother-in-law, Merna Cowan; special friend, Cheryl Haynes; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; son, Steven Horvath; and stepdaughter, Rachel Vanadestine.
A private gathering will be held by family and friends.
