Lee Kokott, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the age of 73. Loving husband of DeAnn (nee Asdoorian) for 46 years. Lee was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on May 1,1951, to Leo and Dorothy (nee Swanto) Kokott. Lee was raised in Caledonia and attended Raymond Elementary School in Franksville. He was a graduate of Union Grove High School, Class of 1969. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Lee's career spanned over 44 years at Spencer's where he rose through the ranks to become a Senior District Sales Manager. His role took him across 6 states - Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin - overseeing stores and mentoring countless team members. Known for his strong voice in the company, Lee never hesitated to speak up when it mattered. He embodied the company's tagline "Life's A Party," at work and at home, living each day with enthusiasm and heart.
Lee was devoted to his family and loved creating joyful memories together. Summers were marked by his famous "Clipboard of Fun," which was always filled with activities and adventures for family vacations. A passionate sports fan, Lee especially enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers, as well as Badger football and basketball.
He had a deep love of music and lyrics - whether he was Turning Back Time with Cher, following the Long and Winding Road with The Beatles, or Riding The Storm Out with REO Speedwagon, there was always a soundtrack to life with Lee, and he loved sharing it with those around him.
Lee was the fun-loving and proud Dad of Kristen (Michael) Burke, and Kim (Peter) Lanzel. Grandpa and Papa of Caitlin Burke and Oliver Lanzel. Preceded in death by his parents, Leo, Dorothy, and brother Cory Kokott. Lee was the Brother-in-law of Renaye Ohanesian, and Raelene (Scott) Pullen. He was loved by many other relatives and friends.
Services at St. John the Baptist Armenian Orthodox Church, 7825 W. Layton Avenue, Milwaukee WI 53220, on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Divine Liturgy will begin at 10:00 AM. Memorial Service begins at 11:20 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Armenian Church, or to Upper Plains ~
