Lee "Burt" Rasnake went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, and Papa whose life was marked by faith, dedication, and love.
Burt was born on August 4, 1941, in Dante, Virginia, to Clinton and Frances (Cooper) Rasnake. He graduated from Castlewood High School before moving to Springfield, Missouri, where he worked alongside his grandfather at Evangel University. In 1961, Burt began what would become a 46.9-year career at the Assemblies of God Headquarters, starting in the Literature Mail Department. He went on to serve in various roles within the bindery, ultimately working on the folding machine until his retirement in 2007 as a journeyman folder.
On December 23, 1961, Burt married the love of his life, Delores (Boulware) Rasnake. Together they had one daughter, DeEtta (Rasnake) Cox, and shared nearly 38 beautiful years of marriage before Delores went home to be with the Lord. Burt faithfully served at Calvary Temple, where he enjoyed operating the sound system.
In God's grace, Burt was later blessed with a second loving marriage to Sharon (Ray) Rasnake on July 15, 2000. Sharon had been a longtime friend of both Burt and Delores. Burt and Sharon worshipped together at Central Assembly of God and were blessed with 24 cherished years of marriage.
Burt found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in his younger years when he loved riding his bike to Meadow Park to watch baseball games. His life was a testament to faith, service, and love for family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Delores Rasnake; his parents, Clinton and Frances Rasnake; and his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Rasnake) and Jack Brattin. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Rasnake of the home; daughter DeEtta and husband Rob Cox; sons Jerry and wife Jennifer Washam, and John and wife Kim Washam. Burt's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Nacole (Cox) and husband Bo Smith, Christopher Cox, Gavin, Savannah, Easton, and Austin Washam; and his great-grandchildren: Lexi, Emily, and Jemma Smith.
Services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, located on Battlefield Road in Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will take place on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Burt will be laid to rest during a private family gathering at White Chapel Cemetery on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
We invite all who knew and loved Burt to join us in celebrating his life and rejoicing in the blessed hope we share through Jesus Christ-that one day, we will all be reunited.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Burt's name to Footprint Funding at Central Assembly of God Church located at 1301 N. Boonville Ave, Springfield, MO 65802.
