Lee Ray Ryan, age 90, of Casey, IL passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Heartland Nursing and Rehab Center in Casey, IL. He was born September 9, 1934 in Cumberland County, IL the son of Berlin Victor Ryan and Mildred Maureen (Barger) Ryan. On December 9, 1956 he married Marilyn Knecht in Casey, IL.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Marilyn Ryan of Casey, IL; daughter, Brenda Ryan of Pearland TX; grandsons, Justin (Amy) of Brownsburg, IN and Anthony (Amber) of Casey, IL; great grandchildren, Ryland, Elyse, Emmalyn, Foster, Jacksyn, Kayden, Gretchyn, Coltyn, Brooklyn and Hudsyn; brother, Kent Ryan (Peggy) of Toledo, IL; nephews, nieces, his Church family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Berlin Ryan and Mildred Ryan-Titus; brother, Jerry Ryan and son, Randy Lee Ryan.
Lee was a 1952 graduate of Cumberland High School. He served his country in the US Army. Lee was a lifelong grain farmer in the Casey, IL area. He enjoyed every aspect of farming and in his "spare time" would drive around checking the crops, always taking different routes along the way. He was an active member of Clark County Farm Bureau and Pork Producers.
Lee and Marilyn were faithful members of Casey United Methodist Church where Lee served on many committees and organizations within the church. Family and farming were Lee's true passion in life.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Casey United Methodist Church with Pastor Billie Ray Ulrey and Pastor Joy Starwalt officiating. Burial will follow in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL with Rev. Bob Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Casey United Methodist Church, 703 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
