Lee Wane Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Lee Thomas Wane, 53, who passed away tragically while working on March 24, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas. A beloved husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Lee leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love, dedication, and strength that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Born on December 5, 1972, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Thomas Harold Wane and Carol Grabert, Lee was a blessing from the beginning. His life was forever enriched on June 5, 2002, when he married the love of his life, Franchesca "Frenchy" Wane. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in family, faith, and joy-one filled with countless blessings and cherished memories.

For over 23 years, Lee dedicated himself to American Electric Power (AEP) with steadfast loyalty. Hard work was not just something he did-it defined him. Whether on the job or at home, Lee approached every task with pride, honor, and determination.

Lee found great peace in the outdoors, especially on his ranch in Robstown-his little piece of heaven. He enjoyed dove hunting, and fishing with his son Anthony brought him some of his most treasured moments. In his pastime, Lee could be found in his shop working with his hands, crafting beautiful custom leather pieces such as Bible covers and knife sheaths. Even after a long day's work, he always carved out time to create, unwind, and find calm at the close of the day.

A gifted cook, Lee's skills in the kitchen and at the grill were unmatched. Everything he made was incredible. Barbecuing and hosting family and friends were among his greatest joys. His homemade version of the "McRib" became legendary-many swore it put McDonald's to shame.

Lee also developed a passion for fermenting and preserving-crafting his own wine and moonshine and pickling all kinds of goods as preparation for tougher days. A true survivor at heart, there was nothing he set his mind to that he could not accomplish. He lived with pride, resilience, and an unshakeable commitment to those he loved.

Family was Lee's greatest treasure. He was deeply supportive, steadfast, loving, and-when needed-stern in all the right ways. He found joy in the culture of life, embracing with warmth the Mexican heritage he loved so dearly. And at any good moment, you could hear his favorite song, "People Are Crazy," playing somewhere nearby.

Overall, Lee found peace with God's word, beginning each morning with a cup of coffee shared with his wife while reading his Bible before heading to work. This quiet ritual renewed his strength daily, grounding him in faith, purpose, and gratitude.

Lee is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Franchesca "Frenchy" Wane; his loving children, Meagan (Alejandro) Aceves, Victoria Francine Sanchez, and Anthony Lee Wane; and his adored granddaughters, Alyssa Everly Aceves and Aleah Marie Aceves.

He is also survived by his parents, Carol Grabert and Thomas Harold (Carol) Wane; his siblings, Matthew (Stacey) Wane, Kaelene (Matthew) Hernandez, Katie Wane, Sean Wane, and Ryan Wane; mother in law, Frances (Dave) Rivera Naumoff; and brother in law, Benny (Afsoon) Santos Lopez, Jr.

Lee is preceded in death by his father in law, Benito Romero Lopez, Sr.; his brother, Brian Wane, and his brother in law, Shane Lopez, who now welcome him into Heaven.
