Lee A. Whitman, 82, of Port Royal, passed away at 5:33 AM, Monday, December 25,2023 at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born on July 25,1941 in Honey Grove, Juniata County, he was the son of the late John H. and Alice S. (Kirk) Whitman. On August 13,1964 he married his surviving wife, Mildred (Naylor) Whitman with whom he was blessed to share over 59 years of marriage.
He is survived by his sons, Craig L. Whitman and wife, Bonnie (Gafney), Scott Whitman and wife, Christina (Clouser), and John H. Whitman. Lee is also survived by grandchildren Jenna Whitman, Amber Whitman, Justin Whitman, Chase Whitman, Aiden Whitman, and Isabel Whitman.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters Mary Yohn Whitman and Helen Gibbons Whitman.
Mr. Whitman honorably served our country in the United States Army. Lee was employed and retired from Marlette Homes for over 43 years.
He was a member of the Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church. Lee enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and traveling when he was able to do so.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29,2023 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Rev. Joanne Torma officiating. Interment will follow in the Academia Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral services at 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Whitman's memory to the Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, 54 Church Road, Mifflin, PA 17058.
