Leila Hemmen, 88, of Webster City passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Community Church of Kamrar with visitation one hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Leila Kay Brim, daughter of Paul and Margaret (Lyle) Brim, was born July 7, 1937 and grew up in Webster City. She graduated from Lincoln high school in 1955. On December 31, 1955, Leila was united in marriage to Ronald Hemmen and to this union four children were born. Leila loved the Lord and a was faithful follower of Christ. She was a member of the Community Church of Kamrar. Leila enjoyed doing the Lords’ work by visiting prisons and nursing homes. She also owned Fashion Jewelry on Main Street in Webster City.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda (randy) Peterson of Des Moines, Sonia (John) Humble of Woolstock, Darren (Michon) of Waukee; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Bette (Paul) Willingham and brother, Lyle (Marlene) Brim.
Leila was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; her parents; daughter, Paula Holloway; grandchildren, Renae Holloway; great-grandson, Jeremiah Jannenga and sister, Bonnie (Abbas) Habhab.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Webster City Congregate Meals, 749 2nd Street, Webster City, IA 50595
