Mrs. Lela Mae Kern, age 86, a native and lifelong resident of Irvington , AL passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at home surrounded by her family.
Lela enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking, gardening and loved Alabama Football.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Barton O. Kern, Sr., parents, John and Olivia Waller, 4 sisters, Mary Nichols, Betty Goodrum, Helen Waller, Dorothy Lyons, 2 brothers, John Waller, and Roy Waller.
She is survived by 3 children, Barton O. (Tanya) Kern, Jr., Rhonda (James) Stewart, Sheila (John) Dismuke, 2 brothers, Jerry (Pam) Waller, George Waller, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, special nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from Bayou Wesleyan Church on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 2pm. The family will receive friends from 1pm until service time Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in Oddfellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Buddy Puckett, Will Eddins, Hunter Eddins, Willie Eddins, Cory Dismuke and David Kalifeh.
