Leland C. Barnes, 70 years old passed peacefully to Heaven on October 10, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO with his family by his side.
Leland was born July 14, 1952 in Rome, MO to Lorel and Mary Marie (Bloomer) Barnes.
Leland started his own business in 1984 as Leland Barnes Plumbing and Heating. Then later became Leland Barnes Inc. with his brothers. He worked in the business for many years upon retiring in 2021.
On May 26, 1973 Leland and Nancy (Watson) were united in marriage in Ava, MO and they were blessed with three children; Curt, Chrystal and Jeff.
Leland was a quiet man of faith. He loved being in the outdoors and caretaking his home. As a young man Leland loved playing sports, had an ornery side and loved playing jokes on people. But most of all, his joy was his FAMILY!
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Neal and Alvin; his sister, Charlean Parker; two brothers-in-laws, John Parker and Jim Renne.
Leland is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his children, Curt & Vickie, Chrystal & Dewayne and Jeff & Lindsay; 9 grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Jessica, Colton, Coy, Keeley, Kage, Emilia and Ariella; two great grandchildren, Zoey and Camden; his siblings, Marilyn Barnes Renne, Doyle & Rosie Barnes, Lila & Bill Frye, and Alesia & Steve King; sisters-in-laws, Bonnie Barnes & Kandy Barnes; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services for Leland will be Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. A visitation will be prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Buddy Boyd. Memorials may be made to Gideon's or donor's choice.
